Every year since 2006, “The British Youth Travel Awards” (put on by the British Educational Travel Association (BETA)) have recognized the success and professionalism of organisations and individuals engaged in the UK youth, student and educational travel industry. This year, StudentUniverse is proud to have been named a finalist in the “Best Marketing 2014” category (full list of 2014 finalists here: bit.ly/1BJna2W).
StudentUniverse was nominated for the awards based on a campaign it ran at fresher’s fairs across the UK in September and October 2014 to inspire students to travel. For this campaign, StudentUniverse used cutting-edge green screen technology to project students into iconic destinations around the world to animate the concept of travel, and captured a photo of the student in their destination of choice. Over 2,000 students participated in the campaign. These pictures were then uploaded to StudentUniverse’s social media channels where students were able to “like,” and share the photos, and tag themselves. This led to over 1,400,000 social impressions generated across Facebook where students could be seen interacting with the StudentUniverse brand. Students were all then sent follow-up extra discounts to book their next flight with StudentUniverse.
