The world’s safest airlines for 2019 have been revealed by AirlineRatings.com, the airline safety and product rating review website.

Qantas has come out on top and has been named as the world’s safest airline, ahead of some of the largest and well-known carriers around the world. But this is not the first time the airline has topped the list. From 2014 to 2017 Qantas came out on top as the world’s safest airline.

Each year AirlineRatings.com analyses 405 airlines in order to pull together this list. It takes into consideration the age of the fleet, industry-leading safety initiatives, crash and serious incident records for each airline and audits from governing bodies in the aviation industry.

Following close behind Qantas in the ratings were Air New Zealand, who were given second place. And Taiwan’s Eva Air which made third place in the rankings.

Some of our other airline partners, who we work with to give students and youths exclusive discounts on flights, have also been ranked as the world’s safest airlines for 2019. These include Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways, who ranked fourth and fifth place. As well as sixth and seventh place Singapore Airlines and Emirates. Virgin Australia has also made the list in tenth place, with Virgin Atlantic not far behind in twelfth place.

AirlineRatings.com also listed their top ten safest low-cost airlines. The list, in alphabetical order, is as follows Air Arabia, Flybe, Frontier, HK Express, IndiGo, Jetblue, Volaris, Vueling, Westjet and Wizz.
