1. 4WD on the world’s largest sand island

One of the top activities to do on the Fraser Coast, is a 4WD experience. Head to Fraser Island’s 75 mile beach and get incredible views of the sea and sand during this thrilling ride!
2. Swim in a natural waterfall
Take a trip to Mount Walsh National Park and discover the Utopia Rock Pools. You’ll find pristine waterfalls and their pools tucked away among the tress. You can easily spend a whole day at the national park, taking a revitalising swim in your favourite pool or just soaking up the beauty surrounding you.
3. Have your own wildlife encounter

If you’re looking to get up close to the marine life of Australia, Fraser Island is the location to do it! From July to November you’ll be able to swim with the majestic humpback whales, coming face to face with one of the oceans most beautiful creatures and getting an experience of a lifetime in the process!
4. Explore the Aussie bush
The Fraser Coast is the perfect location to get outside and get to know the Aussie bush. Be it whilst abseiling, kayaking, riding mountain bikes or having a run at the inspired obstacle course. Just head to the Fraser Coast Visitor Information Centre and they’ll be able to point you in the right direction for your next activity.
5. Skydive over Fraser Island

Thrill seekers take note! Fraser Island is a great spot for skydiving experience. It’s one of the most beautiful locations to sky dive in the world, and once you make the leap, you’ll be treated to a bird’s eye view of this stunning location.
6. Try out stand up paddle boarding
If you’ve never tried stand up paddle boarding this is your chance. Hervey Bay’s protected beaches offer you the chance to explore around a number of piers at a gentle pace. Whilst at sea keep a watch out for sea life. It’s not uncommon to spot a friendly turtle too!
7. Dive in the Great Barrier Reef

Take a swim, or go for a dive at the Great Barrier Reef. If you’re wanting to catch a glimpse of manta rays during your dive, head to Lady Elliot Island, where manta rays are residence. You may even catch the spectacular scene of these creatures swimming in unison.
8. Book a jet ski tour
Experience the thrill of a jet ski tour in the Great Sandy Straits, which can be found to the western side of Fraser Island. It’s a tour like no other, where you’ll be able to discover the idyllic Pelican Bank in the heart of the Great Sandy Biosphere.
9. Take on the hiking trails on Fraser Island

Fraser Island has a number of brilliant hiking trails for you to discover. There’s the epic great walk, which spans for 90km, and can take six to eight days to complete. But if you don’t want to commit to such a long walk, there are shorter options available. Whatever route you choose you’re sure to get stunning views of the wonderful nature that inhabits Fraser Island.
10. Sports Fishing
If you’re a keen angler, head to the Fraser Coast for a spot of fishing. It’s said that the region’s fishing us among the nation’s most diverse. You’ll have the chance to catch black marlin, golden trevally or barramundi.
